How did Mr. Bing go from 8 pounds to 11?

Bing Playing 03-2014

Mr. Bing is thriving, active and happy!

Energy healing, diet and essential oils maintain quality of life with chronic illness.

In July 2012 my cat, Mr. Bing, was diagnosed with Hypercalcemia (too much Calcium in the blood). He was losing weight quickly, had diarrhea and occasional vomiting.  I made the decision to treat him with complimentary approaches rather than submit him to surgery, chemo and ongoing medical care.  Read earlier blog entries to see his progress.

A year ago, in my last blog, Mr. Bing was hanging in there, affectionate and occasionally perky, yet very slowly losing ground.  His weight was 7.5-8.0 pounds.  Now, one year later, Bing is now 11 pounds, plays like a young cat and demands attention and cuddles.  How did that happen with this chronic disease?

It is clear he still has the disease.  I still notice a few symptoms of the disease (loose stools and high respiration levels).  Yet he has steadily become stronger and back to his old self.  His diet is still grain free and includes a daily pro-biotic.  I also added micro algae in November and this brought his energy level up and he started playing more.  I continue energy healing (acupressure and Reiki) as well.   He continues to amaze me and affirm the healing work I do with him.  Thank you, Mr. Bing!

Energy healing and essential oils: a cost effective way to maintain and improve health! – August 2013

We are now a year plus past his diagnosis and Mr. Bing is holding his own at 9 pounds, playing again and comes to me when he wants healing.   Neither my vet nor I expected him to live this long since Hypercalcemia is very hard on the internal organs. His only symptoms are loose stools, as the disease seems to affect his digestion most.  He is his old affectionate, outgoing self.  And discovered newspaper and ribbon as his favorite toys.  He reads the travel section mostly 🙂

What happened since my last post in February when Mr. Bing was having a small setback?   He recovered from the setback quickly.  He seemed to figure out he needed to drink more water to dilute the calcium and pass the excess in his urine (I should buy stock in kitty litter!).  He has stayed hydrated and maintained his weight very well over the past 5 months.  He lost some interest in the Brushtail food and I stopped feeding it to him in May when it was no longer available.  I have been feeding him a tuna and lamb wet food and he loves that.  He eats consistently with relish, begging for food.

I give him regular Acupressure and Reiki when he wants it and daily Essential Oil Raindrop Therapy with an extra oil for diarrhea.    Mr Bing of course loves summer and being able to be on the deck or lay on the grass.

I will post an update if things change.  Meanwhile I am totally sold on energy healing and essential oils as a cost effective way to maintain and improve health!

Miracle cat: two steps forward, one step back – Feb. 28 2013

A worrisome down turn.

In July 2012 Mr. Bing was diagnosed with Hypercalcemia (too much Calcium in the blood). He was losing weight quickly, had diarrhea and occasional vomiting.  I made the decision to treat him with complimentary approaches rather than submit him to surgery, chemo and ongoing medical care.  Read earlier blog entries to see his progress.

In my previous blog, Mr. Bing had made a miraculous turn for the better, eating avidly and gaining weight.   He even left his beloved paper bag I had situated on the heat register by the front door and started laying on the chair again.

About 4 days ago I noticed him not eating as much.  He went back and forth for a couple of days; eating more, then eating less.  Now yesterday and today, he is barely touching anything I put down for him, even the Brushtail he devoured for 4 weeks straight.  Of course this happened just after I ordered another case of Brushtail!

Some of the glazed look of pain is back and he lays listing to one side (a sign of pain in the past).  So I’ve increased the frequency of the Arnica drops and essential oils.   Such a strange and unpredicable disease!
